The December 12th Movement joins with those around the world in expressing our grief on the passing of New Afrikan Freedom Fighter Dr. Mutulu Shakur. Mutulu was a part of our family. He spent his life fighting for the self-determination of Afrikan people. Our family has lost a revolutionary, an innovative healer, a doctor (Lincoln Detox Center), an organizer, a father, a former political prisoner of war. His deeds embodied Malcolm’s dictate to fight for our freedom “by any means necessary.”
Mutulu had a magnetic energy that we’ll miss.
Doc had only a few months on the outside since his capture in 1986.
Mutulu was a soldier, a comrade, a revolutionary and our friend.
