Friday, May 25, 2018, marks the annual commemoration of foundation of the Organization of African Unity on May 25, 1963. Representatives of thirty African nations gathered in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia hosted by Emperor Haile Selassie to establish the recognition and development of African liberation and unity. It is now celebrated around the world.
On this 55th Anniversary, Sistas’ Place will honor our revolutionary freedom fighter Winnie Mandela at 456 Nostrand Avenue, Brooklyn NYC at 6:30 PM. The tribute will include a video showing of Winnie Mandela, the history of African Liberation Day, music, and an open discussion.
